Indie wine – at the American Museum of the House Cat!

In this week’s edition of warm and fuzzy wine news – meet the first wine in a cat museum.

Sharon Weeks officially has wine in a museum – The American Museum of the House Cat

Angel-funded wine – now at a cat museum!

A special-edition 1.5L Magnum of Cattoo Cabernet Sauvignon – produced by one of our very own winemakers, Sharon Weeks – is now on display as part of the national museum’s permanent collection:

“To honor Cattoo’s recent Best Alternative Package Design, Best Series Design and People’s Choice wins – and cats worldwide.”

It all started with a love for cats… and tattoos

A lifelong cat and tattoo enthusiast, Sharon wanted her customer-funded wines to be “playful, unexpected, and daring.”

Enter in the creative team of nakedwines.com and designers Geoff Meyer and Hayley Partridge of 4Parts – the masterminds who created Sharon’s Cattoo theme and brand.

Sharon Weeks’ exclusive Cattoo wines for nakedwines.com are the proud winners of Best Alternative Package Design, Best Series Design and People’s Choice Awards.

Safe to say, it’s a smashing success with cat fans and wine lovers alike…

“Along with the creative nature of the brand and packaging design, the wines Sharon produces really are incredible,” says Antonio Trevino, nakedwines.com’s Vice President of Winemaking.

“She has a way of combining fun and finesse in her award-winning Central Coast wines, and our customers love her!”

Now national cat lovers will have their own chance to get a peek.

Read the museum’s official statement:

“It’s an honor to have Sharon’s feline-friendly wine amongst our collection of articats,” said Kimberly Crow, Social Media Strategist for American Museum of the House Cat. “We are honored to promote such unique (and delicious) design.”

Have a hankering to visit this award-winning display?

You can visit The American Museum of the House Cat any time you’d like – at the Old School Antique Mall in Sylva, North Carolina.

Fun fact –  it’s the largest feline-loving museum in America – and reportedly “busier than ever,” said Crow. Enthusiasts across the country trek to experience and celebrate cat culture – they’ve hosted over 15,000 visitors to-date!

On a warm and fuzzy note, admission fees from the museum benefit founder Dr. Harold Sims’ no-kill shelter.

It’s official – Sharon’s feline wines are certifiably delicious works of art – but first and foremost, they’re made to be enjoyed. Just like a fine catnip.

And because life is funny that way…

Cattoo’s design awards were announced at the 2019 Wines & Vines Packaging Design Awards in Yountville, CA. Fittingly, the event took place on August 9, 2019 – right after International Cat Day.
